According to all estimates, the pod, which is abandoned on the Sea Ocean side, is made of entirely of pilot whales, half of which are even dared to be alive.

A local claimed to have seen whales near the entrance to Macquarie Harbor and described the abandoning as a "big occasion" when speaking to the Australian Telecom Corp.
