When flames started erupting from beneath the Chevrolet, Anderson's vehicle was whirling across the track.

Anderson looked to be partly out of the window as the vehicle proceeded to spin and skid toward an inside wall before coming to a stop parallel to the wall.

In order to get away from the flames, Anderson climbed to the top of the wall. He was originally examined at the infield care facility before being flown to a hospital in Birmingham.
